In the United States, about 12 percent of households struggle with food insecurity, which means about one in eight households have difficulty providing enough food. Food insecurity influences academic outcomes and health, and is linked to many of the other root causes that keep people from sustained employment.
“Collaborating with the Center for Applied Public Research on a problem as complex as adolescent food insecurity is a dream come true for a researcher; they not only help unpack the nuances from a practitioner-focused perspective, but also ensure the results are directly implementable for policy change.”
